We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pastry Cook to join our team at HUMBLE BAKERY, a renowned establishment owned by Porteno Pty Ltd in Australia. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads, ensuring high-quality products and maintaining a clean and organised work area.
* Create and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, and breads according to established recipes and quality standards.
* Decorate and present pastries and desserts in an appealing and artistic manner.
* Monitor and maintain inventory of baking ingredients and supplies.
* Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed.
* Collaborate with the team to develop new pastry recipes and menu items.

Task & Responsibilities
* checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
* checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients
* kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
* preparing pastry fillings
* monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
* coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
* glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
* operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits
* emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment
Qualification & Experience
* Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in a professional kitchen.
* Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
* Excellent attention to detail and creativity in pastry decoration.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications.
