Intereach is an NDIS Partner in the Community, delivering the Early Childhood Approach in the Loddon, Mallee, Goulburn and Murrumbidgee region.

About the Role:
The Early Childhood Practitioner – Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist is responsible for working alongside families with children aged 0 – 9, who have developmental concerns, developmental delay or a diagnosed disability, to provide information and access to early childhood early intervention supports.

The Early Childhood Practitioner - Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist works with families to;

· Create a developmental profile for the child using strengths-based approaches including observations, evidence based developmental screeners and assessments and gathering of information from the primary caregiver and other professionals (eg. Educators, Allied Health, Community Child Health Nurse) as relevant,

· Identify and develop goals/priorities for their child that supports participation and inclusion across environments such as their home, early education settings and the community,

· Provide information about the child’s development

· Where a child meets the developmental delay criteria, navigate NDIS access for longer term funded early intervention supports,

· Where a child meets the developmental concerns criteria, develop a family support plan and provide short term early intervention supports using a Key Worker/Team around the child approach.

In this role, you will also use your skills to build connections with community and mainstream organisations, assisting to create opportunities for greater participation and meaningful inclusion of children with developmental delay and disability and their families/carers.

The position is permanent full time - 38 hours per week and can be based in Albury or Wagga Wagga.  

This position is classified under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award as a Level 1.3 with an annual salary between $86,351.20 + Superannuation + Salary Packaging.

The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Speech Pathology/Allied Health, disability, early childhood education or related field. You will have a commitment to making a difference in the lives of children, working knowledge of local services and supports and a strong work ethic with values that align with those of Intereach.
