Australian Food & Fibre (AFF) is a vertically integrated grower, processor and marketer of cotton, and is committed to producing the highest quality food and fibre. Our operations are located across New South Wales and have been built on significant industry knowledge, experience and expertise.
We are currently seeking an experienced General Clerk to join our team in Warren.
Overall, as a general clerk you will play a crucial role in supporting the administrative functions of our organisation, ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly.
The successful applicant must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role involving customer service, client accounts, and/or project management. They will collaborate within a small administrative team, occasionally overseeing a junior admin, and reporting to the Operations Manager. Proficiency in managing accounts using our designated software systems and conducting thorough research from diverse sources is essential.
Applicants will also have:
- A formal qualification is desired
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and follow-up skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and proactively solve problems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support across departments, including answering phones, customer service, responding to emails, and managing correspondence.
- Efficiently entering data into computer systems, maintaining organised filing systems, and keeping accurate records of transactions, inventory and correspondence.
- Assisting with accounts payable and receivable tasks, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and reconciling records.
- Coordinating appointments, meetings, and events, aligning schedules with staff, clients, and external partners.
- Monitoring inventory levels and procuring office supplies to support efficient operations.
- Supporting basic bookkeeping duties like recording expenses, processing payroll, and maintaining financial records.
- Handling sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentiality as required.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and external contacts to exchange information and provide updates.
The ideal candidate should have access to reliable transportation as occasional offsite work may be required. This is a full-time position requiring 38 hours per week, with the opportunity for an immediate start available.
