Senior Clinician - Occupational Therapist - Children/Young People

The Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist (OT), in addition to undertaking Grade 2 duties including providing Occupational Therapy services to identified clients and their families on behalf of healthAbility, will:

- Have at least seven (7) years’ experience in the delivery of OT to children/young people

- Perform duties across clinical, managerial, education and/ or quality areas as indicated in Grade 3 EBA and as per direction of the Program Manager Childrens Services.

 

You as the Occupational Therapist will work with clients who may be accessing support from a range of funding sources including but not limited to:

• Community Health

• Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS)

• Private Health Insurance

• Fee-For-Service

• National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

 

Occupational Therapists may work with clients individually, with a guardian or within a group setting through F2F and/or telehealth as decided upon during initial consultation.

Your role may involve working with relevant health, educational, and welfare agencies in the region to provide appropriate, timely and relevant services that improve outcomes for children and families.

healthAbility will grant Rights of Private Practice to staff registered for Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS).

healthAbility uses the 100% donation model as the framework for this activity. As an Occupational Therapist working at healthAbility you will have access to medical indemnity insurance through the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority.

You will be required to provide clinical supervision to Grade 1 and Grade 2 OT’s.

You will be required to ensure that resourcing of the OT clinic is current across sites.

You may be required to undertake quality activities.

You may be required to complete other duties in line with Grade 3 Allied Health EBA, such as coordinating student placements.

You may be required to provide OT service across sites, Eltham, and Box Hill and via Telehealth.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent.

• Registration with Australian Health Practitioners’ Regulation Authority (AHPRA).

• SWEP registration (level green) desirable
