Missi Roti Indian Restaurant is a well-established Indian restaurant located in Springvale, VIC. We are currently seeking an experienced Chef with 3 plus years of experience to join our team. As a Chef at Missi Roti Indian Restaurant, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality Indian meals and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to our restaurant's standards.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook Indian meals according to the menu and restaurant standards.
• Develop innovative and balanced menus considering seasonal and local produce.
• Ensure that all ingredients used in the kitchen are fresh and of high quality.
• Estimate food and labour costs accurately to aid in budget formulation and control.
• Oversee the systematic ordering of food supplies, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency.
• Constantly monitor the quality of dishes at every stage of preparation and presentation to uphold the brand's standard.
• Collaborate closely with managers and other team members to address and resolve food preparation issues promptly and effectively.
• Manage and maintain kitchen inventory, including ordering and stocking ingredients as needed.
• Showcase culinary techniques and provide guidance on cooking procedures to the kitchen staff.
• Be a source of knowledge and expertise, helping staff navigate complex recipes and cooking techniques.
• Be hands-on in preparing and cooking food, ensuring the highest standards are met consistently.
• Champion hygiene and safety regulations, educating the team on the importance and implementation of cleanliness protocols.
• Play a role in the selection of new staff, bringing in individuals who add value to the team.
• Train and nurture staff, fostering a learning environment and promoting career growth.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Chef with 3 plus years of experience in an Indian restaurant or similar setting
• Expert knowledge of Indian cooking techniques and cuisines
• Ability to manage and train kitchen staff.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
