Payroll Officer Rozelle Permanent Role - Full Time Salary: Up to $100,000 + Super In-office role | 8am - 4pm Free on-site parking

A national company who operate across Australia, they're very successful in what they do, and this is a rare opportunity to join their finance team. They're currently seeking a Payroll Officer based at their Headquarters in Rozelle.
This position provides the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the operation of the business - responsible for processing weekly payroll for a 150-strong workforce (15% white collar, 85% blue collar). The role provides vast opportunity for process-improvement - driving efficiency and accuracy within the Payroll Department, and it's a role you can really make your own. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'd be joining a welcoming & friendly finance team.
Your Area of Responsibilities:
Process end-to-end payroll weekly for up to 150 employees with precision and timeliness.
Ensure compliance with relevant awards, agreements, and legislation, staying updated on changes.
Conduct payroll checks, reconciliation, and manage statutory requirements such as redundancy payments and workers' compensation.
Handle backpay, pay adjustments, and employee timecard adjustments.
Identify errors and propose corrective actions for improved accuracy and efficiency.
Prepare labour reports and support managers with queries.
Assist with month-end reporting and year-end reconciliation.
Assist with preparing payroll tax and superannuation calculations for lodgement.
Month-end leave balance reconciliation and report.
Other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Your Profile:
Must be able to drive to the office in Rozelle (free on-site parking).
Very competent working with Excel.
Must have experience working with a range of accounting software including dated & legacy software.
Excellent communication skills.
Able to develop a wide range of internal relationships - regularly seeking & requesting information from internal colleagues.
At least 5 years' experience in a similar role.
Proficient understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation.
Experience with Reckon and/or Employment Hero preferred.
Experience in construction environments is advantageous.
