This Financial Controller opportunity is part of a commercial construction company with excellent professional growth opportunities. You will report directly to the CFO and have a dotted line to the MD. You will also partner closely with a range of project managers and other stakeholders across the business. You will coach and mentor two direct reports (Assistant Accountant & Admin Support).
The successful candidate for the Financial Controller position will ideally come from a construction industry background and have existing knowledge / experience working within a project based business.
This is a full time permanent position is based in Sydney Olympic Park (parking available) and is offering a salary range of $150,000 - $200,000 + super depending on the successful candidate's experience. This role will be based on site and you will work with a collaborative, vibrant and supportive team.
The Key responsibilities for the Financial Controller include:
Maintain the company's finance records across several entities.
Produce monthly, quarterly and yearly reports for the CFO. Reports include, management reports, reconciliations, preparing progress claims and invoicing.
Partner closely with Project Managers and be in charge of project accounting.
Responsible for BAS, IAS, superannuation, PAYG, FBT, etc.
Coach and mentor two direct reports.
Reconcile Payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
Desired Skills and experience:
Preferable CA / CPA qualified.
Experience working within the construction industry is preferred.
Project accounting experience is highly desired.
Worked with a range of accounting ERP systems. Knowledgeable using MYOB is a bonus.
Experience with budgeting and cash flows.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Highly motivated and have the ability to prioritize and work autonomy to meet deadlines.
