ARB Corporation t/a ARB 4x4 Accessories go back to 1975 when company founder, Tony Brown, was inspired by a 4WDing trip through the top end of Australia.
Upon his return to Melbourne, Tony put theory into practise, and began working in the family garage to address some of the product deficiencies he’d encountered on his trip. It was exactly what Australian 4WDers had been waiting for, and ARB, the initials of Anthony Ronald Brown, was founded. Today, ARB is Australia’s largest manufacturer and distributor of 4×4 accessories.
Overview of Position
Our manufacturing site in Kilsyth are looking for Welders to produce a range of fabricated premium vehicle protection products at in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) whilst maintaining and adhering to our rigorous safety standards and producing the highest quality product.
Reporting to the Welding Supervisor your key responsibilities will include:-.
•Primarily welding of bull bars, wings, side rails, rear bars, underbody vehicle protection (UVP), ancillary components, bolt kit assembly, bed rails and other products.
•Grinding.
•Completing First Offs and Last Offs in accordance with the standard ARB Quality procedures whilst taking pride in producing the best off-road accessories in the world.
•Follow Stop, Call, Wait procedure whilst completing First Offs and Last Offs if the part fails.
•Meeting daily production schedule.
•Read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
•Maintain equipment to ensure it does not compromise safety.
•Adhere to ARB’s OH&S Policies and Procedures including wearing correct PPE.
•Attend daily tool box meetings.
•Complete ARB scheduled on-line compliance training.
•Ensure welding bay is clean and tidy at the end of a shift.
•General housekeeping duties.
•Any other duties as requested.
Required Skills, Behaviours and Experience:-
•A team mindset; recognising that the company’s success depends on effective teamwork.
•Experience in MIG Welding preferably in a production environment.
•Experience in metal fabrication manufacturing and processes
•The capacity to grasp concepts easily including reading and following SOP’s.
•Sound knowledge of OH&S and Environmental regulatory requirements.
•Adhering to ARB’s manual handling policy including use of lifting aids or asking for assistance when lifting heavy or bulky loads.
•Committed and practical approach to safety including the wellbeing of colleagues.
•Committed to work the hours necessary to ensure the continued success of the area
