Director Environment and Planning

Georges River Council is in search of a dynamic and experienced senior executive to serve as the Director Environment and Planning. This individual will be instrumental in driving innovation, collaboration, and community focus within the Council, aligning initiatives with strategic goals and ensuring long-term sustainability. Responsibilities include leading policy development and implementation, operational management, performance reporting, team leadership, compliance, risk management, strategic advice provision, change management, and stakeholder engagement to realise the aspirations of Council’s Community Strategic Plan. The ideal candidate will have an appropriate degree qualification in Planning, Management, Public Administration or related discipline and extensive equivalent experience. A strong understanding of relevant legislative frameworks, coupled with exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, is crucial.
