Lord Farms operates a cropping enterprise in Goomalling, Western Australia and is seeking a Full-time Agri Technician for its operations.

The Agri Technician will be responsible for providing technical support for the cropping activities, and will be required to work closely with the Farm Owner, Manager and Agronomists to achieve optimal farming outcomes.

This position will attract a salary of between $70,000 to $80,000 dependent on experience.

Responsibilities include the following:
Crop Planning and Management:
- Assist farmers in developing crop plans, including crop selection, planting schedules, and agronomic practices suitable for broadacre farming.
- Analyzing soil conditions, climate data, and market demands to optimize yield and profitability.
Precision Agriculture:
- Utilize advanced technologies, such as GPS, remote sensing, and variable rate technology, to optimize inputs like fertilizer, seed, and water.
- Help farmers implement precision agriculture techniques to improve resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and enhance productivity.
Machinery and Equipment Management:
- Provide guidance on the selection, maintenance, and operation of farm machinery and equipment used in broadacre farming, such as tractors, planters, sprayers, and harvesters.
- Ensure that machinery is properly calibrated and utilized to achieve optimal performance.
Pest and Weed Management:
- Assist in developing integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and weed control programs.
- Help monitor pest and weed populations, recommend appropriate control measures, and educate farmers about sustainable pest management practices.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect and analyze data related to crop performance, soil health, weather patterns, and other relevant parameters.
- Use software tools and data management systems to assess and interpret data, enabling farmers to make informed decisions and optimize farm operations.
Research and Development:
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in agricultural practices, technology, and regulations.
- Conduct trials and experiments to evaluate new varieties, fertilizers, pesticides, and farming techniques.
- Collaborate with external agronomists to implement programs and techniques as required
Farm Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on the farm.
- Assist casual workers with safe operating procedures for machinery, handling of chemicals, and other potential hazards.

Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience is required.
