BenefitsTask & Responsibilities Perform frequent checks to ensure the dining facilities are clean, that there is a consistent high quality of food preparation, and that service standards meet expectations; Implement and oversee all onboarding of new employees. Ensuring induction policies and training systems are adhered to and actioned by Restaurant management team for each new employee. Ensure framework for OH&S training is in place, updated and adhered to. Work with head chefs and other kitchen personnel to plan seasonable menus that are fresh and popular with customers; Work with the bar manager to design new drinks and drink specials and to assist in supervising the beverage service where necessary; Design and develop the wine list and provide a sommelier service with regards to wine and wine/food pairings Ensure all menu items created have been costed appropriately and portion control systems are in place and being adhered to. Work with other management personnel in relation to the restaurant’s marketing, advertising and promotional activities; Organise and oversee the arrangements for any large groups or special restaurant functions; Develop and implement a relevant budget with the owners and Company operations manager, and ensure that the pricing of goods is in accordance with that budget; Maintain an inventory of stock and records of financial transactions; Assist in hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of food service personnel; Confer directly with customers to ensure assess their level satisfaction and overall experience; Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and/or service; Deal with any internal complaints from, or disciplinary issues with staff; Responsible for training senior Restaurant Management team in the practice of Managing Underperformance. Ensure formal 12 monthly staff appraisals are being executed correctly and consistently. Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas; Ensure conformity with relevant legal requirements regarding the responsible service of alcohol and occupational health and safety standards; During busy periods - assist wait staff by taking reservations, greeting guests and assisting in the taking of orders, particularly for large groups or corporate guests. Qualification & Experience Diploma level qualification (preferable).  Alternatively, 3 years full time work experience in lieu of a qualification. An additional 3 years full time work experience is also required in addition to the above.
