Qantas Group Property manage a portfolio of over 2 million SQM across approximately 100 locations. The Property Development team plays a key role by providing comprehensive property project management services within the Qantas Group. The team works closely with a broad range of stakeholders and end users to deliver property solutions supporting all facets of the business to meet constantly evolving operational requirements and to assist the organisation in providing a premium Customer experience.
Due to a growing portfolio of exciting and diverse projects, we are looking to expand our Property Development team. The Property Development Manager position is responsible for planning, development and delivery of property-related capital projects, ranging from new build projects to fit out and building upgrades. As a Property Development Manager, you ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, safely and in accordance with relevant legislation and recognised standards. The position manages external professional consultants on the delivery, governance and financial control of projects and negotiates with airport owners/operators on the provision of operational facilities and accommodation for use by the airline. This role is also responsible for developing and updating property development options, accommodation policy, project delivery methodology, and overall facility planning and space allocation management, consistent with Qantas Group’s corporate plans.
You’ll have –
- 5+ years’ experience delivering buildings and infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle in the aviation and/or industrial sectors
- Tertiary Qualifications/ bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
- Demonstrated experience with contracting and supplier management e.g. sourcing, negotiating, risk minimisation
- Project management skills with exposure to a variety of project and/or development methodologies
- An understanding of financial evaluation principles and techniques
- An understanding of the regulatory environment, with a willingness and ability to increase knowledge base
- Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects, effectively prioritise and work to deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously
- Strong communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound understanding of computer-based systems and databases
- Strong written skills supported by rigorous documentation and records keeping
- Sound influencing skills and negotiation skills
