The opportunity:
Randstad have partnered with a leading Power Engineering Consultancy with an excellent reputation in providing full in-house specialist engineering solutions in Australia and abroad. Due to the strong pipeline of projects and unprecedented growth our client is experiencing, we are currently seeking an experienced Engineer in distribution design with 5+ years experience looking to take a step up into a Senior position based here in Melbourne, Victoria. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in power distribution design on overhead networks up to 66kV in Melbourne. For the successful candidate this will be an excellent opportunity to take a step up into a Senior Design role in a highly reputable Consultancy.
Your day to day responsibilities will look like:
22kV to 240/415V (HV & LV) network investigation, analysis, and scoping.
Design of overhead telecommunications fibre optic cables to meet client and utility specific requirements.
Overhead power line design & modeling
Design of Asset relocations, reinforcement, and upgrades.
Technical feasibility assessments, technical compliance audits, quality assurance checks, and detailed design tasks.
Aerial reticulation plan drafting.
Utility make ready works design and drafting.
Coordinate, manage and schedule technical resources.
Manage client interactions while maintaining mutually beneficial professional relationships.
Support and mentor junior employees.
Qualification, Experience and Requirements:
An Electrical qualification with 5+ years design experience.
AutoCAD Drafting experience.
Strong first principle understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
Demonstrated experience in distribution design for overhead and underground networks
Excellent understanding of local utility Technical Standards (desirable).
Experience in delivering renewable energy projects (desirable).
Detailed knowledge of Australian Standards including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 2067 & AS/NZS 5033, AS 7000.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
Current Driver's License.
Be located in or willing to relocate to Victoria .
Must have full Australian work rights.
