Blairgowrie Café is located opposite Blairgowrie Beach, along the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria and just over an hour from Melbourne.
Dine indoors or under an umbrella in our outdoor seating area for breakfast, lunch through to afternoon tea, seven days a week. Open late Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for dinner and most night over the summer holidays.
Blairgowrie Cafe is now looking for a talented Chef yo join their team.
The right candidate will be responsible for:
Rotate stock in fridges and freezers to ensure older stock gets used first;
Supervise and coordinate platings and food presentations;
Train staff members and coordinate daily duties;
Slice, cut, fry or grill various types of fish;
Prepare and cook different cuts of meat at various temperatures and times depending on customers preferences;
Manage pass, platings and call orders;
Plan and create menus with restaurant managers;
Ensure dishes are well presented and cooked in accordance with restaurant standards and recipes;
Assist cooks with meal preparations to ensure dishes are prepared on time;
Deal with waiters and other staff members; Notify staff members of ingredients availability for daily specials;
About you:
At least 3 years of experience as Chef;
Strong cooking and preparation skills;
Ability to work unsupervised;
Ability to train other cooks and chefs where needed;
Strong communication skills;
Job type: Permanent/full-time
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
