GCS Autocare & Service is an established automotive servicing business located in Geelong Victoria. We are now looking to hire a motivated individual to join us as a Motor Mechanic.
The Role
As a Motor Mechanic, it is essential that you have the passion to carry out mechanical servicing duties in an effective and timely manner. Your primary role is to carry out testing, diagnosing and troubleshooting major faults and overhauling engines of motor vehicles and parts such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes of a wide range of motor vehicle types.
The Responsibilities
Some tasks may include
• Inspect, diagnose and overhaul petrol and diesel engines and maintenance.
• Diagnose the engine faults using tech 2, MDI and touch book diagnosis.
• Dismantle engine assemblies and sub-assemblies, repair, adjust and re-fix them
• Inspect parts, diagnose and repair standard and automatic transmissions.
• Inspect parts, diagnose and repair front end components including power steering pumps and gearboxes.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair starter motors and alternators.
• Checking engine and steering oil pressures using pressure gauges
• Tune engines, check engine oil levels, and changing oil and filters.
• Check front-end alignments and balances tyres; reline and adjust brakes; lubricate vehicles.
• Check fuel pressure, Inspect, diagnose and repairing fuel systems on both petrol and diesel.
• Inspect and repair lighting systems; perform preventive maintenance activities on a regular basis.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair hydraulic and air brake systems
• Inspect, diagnose and repair exhaust systems.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair automotive air-conditioning (AC) systems
• Inspect, diagnose and repair defects of engine cooling system and maintenance
• Detecting by inspection any worn / damaged / defective automotive parts, repair and reinstall them, or replace them.
• Proficient use and operation of automotive industry tools, equipment and machinery used in testing, diagnosing and repairing.
• Repair and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Repair and convert left hand drive motor vehicles to right hand drive.
• Perform related work to the above as required
The Requirements:
• AQF Certificate III in relevant motor mechanical field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Experience working with mechanical systems
• Mechanically minded
• Good with hand + power tools
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary:
$70,000 plus Superannuation
