The Head of Defence position is designed for a strategic professional to take on a senior leadership position to shape the future success of the Defence division within this successful infrastructure company.
Reporting directly into the Head of Strategy & Growth, the ideal candidate will possess extensive experience and expertise in defence infrastructure projects, along with strong leadership qualities and a successful track record in project delivery within the defence sector.
In this position, you'll be empowered to influence initiatives concerning defence, playing a pivotal role in the expansion and strategic advancement of the defence infrastructure domain.
Given the national responsibility and scope of this position, the person can be based anywhere in Australia.
Core Responsibilities:
Implement and deliver a strategic plan for defence-related projects in harmony with the organisation's overarching objectives.
Establish leadership and guidance for the defence projects team.
Supervise the planning, implementation, and completion of defence infrastructure projects
Build and maintain robust connections with defence clients including government agencies, military bodies, and regulatory entities, to develop business opportunities foster partnerships, crucial alliances and secure growth.
Promote innovation in defence projects and uphold quality assurance procedures to ensure exceptional standards in the delivery of projects
What we are looking for
A strategic leader with a proven track record of working on infrastructure projects within Defence
Thorough knowledge of the Australian defence industry with a strong background in project management across defence projects
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Project Management)
Extensive experience in building relationships with stakeholders including government agencies, regulatory bodies and military entities
A genuine desire to make a difference and grow a new division from a strategic leadership position
