Position: Full Time Dental Assistant (38 hours per week)

Annual Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation

Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental examinations, ensuring their comfort and readiness for the procedure.
- Sterilize instruments and ensure surgical rooms and equipment are ready for dental practitioners.
- Assist dental practitioners by arranging and handing over instruments, medication, and dental materials during procedures.
- Prepare dental materials and process X-rays under the guidance of dental practitioners, utilizing appropriate technology and software.
- Use suction devices and water sprays effectively to maintain a clear operating field during procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance on dental equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Implement strict sterilization protocols to prevent cross-infection, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Update and maintain patient dental records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide dental health education and post-operative care instructions to patients, contributing to their overall health education.
- Supervise and train junior dental assistants, sharing knowledge and ensuring high standards of patient care and clinical efficiency.
Qualification and Skills Requirements
- A positive, friendly attitude and good time management skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of current infection control guidelines and standards.
- Ability to work autonomously and use initiative and problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills and ability to add value to the team.
- Certificate III of Dental Assisting or one year of relevant experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant dental chairside experience in general dental practice.
