Sparrow Early Learning Waterford Rise consists of a professional early childhood educational team dedicated to creating quality, child-led learning programs where children feel valued and safe. The Lead Educator we seek holds a passion for early childhood education that will be matched by your reflective nature, analytical skills, sense of curiosity and fun. We place great importance on the role of our Lead Educators as you will be a key driver in establishing constructive and robust relationships with our families, your peers, and the wider community. You will join our Child Care Centre on a full time (38 hours per week) and permanent basis with Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year. This will be a senior position where you will report and assist the manager in all aspects of the Centre.

Main duties
• Supervise, support and nurture the children in our care,
• Ensure the environment is safe, interesting and appealing to children,
• Provide ongoing support and assistance to the Nominated Supervisor/ Service Manager in all areas of administrative procedures, curriculum development, parent and community liaison, staff professional development and training, and any other areas as the need arises,
• Support the successful implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan and the National Quality Standard,
• Ensure the Nominated Supervisor/ Service Manager is informed of any problem arising which would affect the children or the smooth running of the service,
• Any other duties, within the scope of the position, as specified by the Nominated Supervisor/ Service Manager,
• Support the Service’s programming promoting commitment to continual improvement to the quality of care provided within each room,
• Follow housekeeping practices, which ensure that equipment is maintained at an optimal level, and the Service is kept clean and tidy,
• Assist in the completion of the daily, weekly and monthly duties (cleaning, maintenance etc.) to ensure a safe, clean and hygienic environment that is welcoming to all,
• Always act within the guidelines set out in the Code of Ethics (Early Childhood Australia Inc.), and
• Facilitate the successful implementation of the Quality Improvement and Rating and Assessment.

Skills & Experience
• Relevant diploma and at least 2 – 3 years of relevant work experience
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate
• CPR including Anaphylaxis and Asthma
• Acceptance from Working with Children Check
• Highly organised and able to plan ahead
• Must be available to work hard
• Passion for Children
• Professional Work Ethics
• Mentoring and developing junior staff
• Reliable

Our opening hours are between 6.30am-6pm Monday to Friday.
