Calling all skilled mobile plant mechanics seeking a new challenge in Kalgoorlie. ABBA Engineering is seeking an experienced trade qualified individual to join our team in Kalgoorlie on a residential basis.
This opportunity is tailored for individuals based in the Goldfields region, poised to embrace exciting challenges and contribute to engineering innovation. For qualified candidates relocating to Kalgoorlie, we offer relocation assistance to join our advanced facility at 5 Kakarra Road, West Kalgoorlie WA, and work on-site at mining operations as required.
As a Mobile Plant Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in providing build, maintenance, and repair services for our dewatering systems. Your responsibilities will include general dewatering duties, as well as maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of dewatering and pump systems. This role is integral to our business growth strategy, and we're looking for a motivated individual to join our journey.
We're seeking a passionate and driven individual who is eager to learn and grow with our company in the long run. This position offers the opportunity for comprehensive in-house training and skill development to support both individual and company growth.
Core duties and responsibilities @ ABBA
• Oversee daily setup and monitoring of the pit dewatering program
• Conduct dewatering duties in active mining environments.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on dewatering and pump systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair dewatering pipework and systems.
• Perform on-site and workshop repairs of pumping systems, diagnosing faults, and implementing solutions.
• Collaborate with procurement for spare parts management.
• Build new pumping assets for hire and rebuild old pumps to extend asset life.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and implement equipment upgrades or improvements.
• Perform regular testing and calibration of pumps.
• Conduct operational testing (commissioning) of pump systems.
• Respond promptly to emergency repair calls.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards.
YOU@ ABBA
• Minimum 2 years’ experience required in similar role
• Technical trade in electrical, plumbing, or equivalent (mandatory).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with pump systems.
• Pump Fault finding and Rectification experience.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Strong understanding of flow calculations and water dynamics.
• High Risk – forklift ticket
• LR/MR Rigid Drivers License
• Working at Heights certificate (desirable)
• Confined Spaces certificate (desirable)
• Construction Industry OHS White card (desirable)
• National Police Clearance
• Satisfactory Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screening
