About the Role:

Join our team as a Nurse Unit Manager on a Full Time ongoing basis to work at Casey Hospital

The Nurse Manager will lead the multi-disciplinary team and will provide specialist nursing skills to consumers of Ward E. this position is a clinical leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operations, clinical outcomes and management of Ward E staff. You will work in partnership with the consultant psychiatrists and other senior clinicians to provide strong leadership and ensure sound governance structures and processes, and the delivery of the set budgetary and KPI targets and to provide regular reports on service performance.

Ward E, within Monash Health Mental Health Services, stands out as a 30 bed adult acute mental health inpatient unit renowned for fostering a recovery-centric environment. Esteemed for its commitment to minimising restrictive practices, the ward has achieved notable success in implementing Safe Wards, with seclusion rates ranking among the lowest in the state. Recognised for its collaborative and consumer-centric approach, Ward E consistently receives praise from consumers, their families, and caregivers, emphasising its dedication to providing high-quality services that prioritise access and flow.

About You:

As an experienced Nurse Manager, you will demonstrate excellent clinical skills in working with our consumers who face complex issues. You have extensive experience in Mental Health care and knowledge of a broad range of diagnoses. You have established leadership and management skills and you empower your team through showcasing your critical thinking, clinical excellence and safety focus in a supportive and excellence driven way.

Using your excellent communication skills, you work closely with a varied team of Mental Health and allied professionals across Monash Health with the sole purpose of delivering exceptional care at all times.

Are able to work autonomously and develop the nurse manager role
What you need:

Requires a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing - or a completion of a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program or specialist post basic course of training which led to registration as a Division 3 nurse
Have a minimum of 5 years full time equivalent post graduate qualification
Clinical leadership within a community Mental Health facility desirable
