The Role
Excellent opportunities have become available for experienced Printing Machinist that includes operating Flexographic printing, Continuous Inkjet Printing (CIJ), Screen printing, Dry Offset, and Lithographic printing in FMCG manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager you will be required to setting, operating, adjusting and maintaining Printing Machineries, artwork, ensuring production levels meets scheduled requirements and product quality conforms to established specifications.

Responsibilities/Skills

• In depth understanding of various types of printing processes that includes Flexographic printing, Continuous Inkjet Printing (CIJ), Screen printing, Dry Offset, and Lithographic

• Creating formulation for solvent and UV based inks that binds well with acrylic and polyester coated metal sheets ensuring that printed surface is high temperature and scratching resistant

• Collaborating with graphics designer/pre-press digital operator to create artwork and finding solutions to challenges.

• Operating various types of printing machineries including web offset, rotogravure, thermographic, embossing, UV printer and screen printer

• Selecting correct ink, size coating and substrate for metal plates, aluminium and tin, and satisfy the job requirements of metal-decorating applications

• Conducting Quality Control (QC) testing such as checking printed metal sheet gauge uniformity, forming of final products, and carefully examining physical characteristics of raw material such as ink viscosity and colour

• Creating silk screen stencils for wine and spirits closures specific to clients’ requirements

• Determining ink film gauge specific to job requirements and ensuring that metal printed sheet provides a certain degree of hardness in order to resist scuffing, scratching, blocking, and solvents, yet be flexible enough to support bending, die cutting, and embossing.

• Maintaining and troubleshoot various digital and conventional printing equipment, conducting root cause analysis and hands on involvement with mechanical troubleshooting.

• Proven ability to work both co-operatively and independently in a team environment with the potential to develop team leadership capabilities

• Good knowledge of occupational health and safety work practices and proven ability to operate and comply with hygiene and quality standards in a food manufacturing environment

Qualification/Experience

• Trade qualification in Printing and minimum 3 years in printing is essential

Position Type
Full time – 38 hours

Remuneration

$63,000 to $70,000 per year. Flexible working hours required, and additional hours will be compensated by overtime pay. You might be required to work on weekends during festive seasons.
