This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Artificial Insemination Specialist ready for a significant career move into an industry leading cattle breeding enterprise.

We are seeking to retain a key employee who will create a new standard when it comes to delivery of cattle breeding services.
Principle Role
• Perform artificial insemination procedures on cattle according to established protocols and guidelines.
• Safely handle and restrain animals during the insemination process, ensuring their comfort and minimizing stress.
• Prepare and administer medications, hormones, and other reproductive aids as necessary for successful insemination.
• Maintain accurate records of breeding activities, including individual animal identification, insemination dates, sire information, and any relevant observations.
• Monitor and evaluate the reproductive performance of the herd, identifying any signs of reproductive disorders, and promptly reporting them.
• Assist with pregnancy diagnosis and manage the records of pregnant animals.
• Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of all equipment used during the insemination process.
• Follow biosecurity protocols to prevent the spread of diseases within the herd.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in artificial insemination techniques and industry best practices.
Ancillary Role
• Develop and implement appropriate feeding programs and ensure proper nutrition for the herd at all stages of growth, taking into account seasonal variations and specific nutritional requirements.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of cattle facilities, equipment, and machinery, ensuring they are in good working order and meet safety standards.
Essential Criteria
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in large-scale cattle herd enterprises is required. Proven experience in breeding, calving, nutrition, and health management is essential.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of cattle farming practices, herd health management, nutrition, and breeding techniques. Familiarity with pasture management and grazing systems is advantageous.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in record-keeping, health monitoring, and overall herd management is crucial.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using farm management software, record-keeping systems, and basic computer applications.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed, especially during critical herd management periods.

What we offer
