Come and discover the opportunity to join our Supply Chain team as a Logistics Analyst. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and a leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands.
With a National footprint and a focus on continuous improvement, you will work to streamline our processes whilst you continue to provide data that’s critical to the success of our business. In this diverse role you will support our Supply Chain team providing detailed analytics, reporting and pricing guidance. You’ll also play a pivotal role in improving processes, enhancing efficiencies and implementing technological and systems improvements.
This position is ideally based in Port Kembla, NSW but other locations across the East Coast can be considered.
What Will You Do?
This role is the perfect combination of day to day, hands on and big picture view. Collaborating with a variety of internal customers and external stakeholders you will:
- undertake detailed analysis of freight spend, utilisation and related elements
- process and monitor freight costs to ensure compliance with agreed rates
- address freight enquiries and billing issues with internal customers and freight providers
- identify process improvement opportunities, developing tools and models to deliver enhanced market insights
- seek out and implement process improvement and optimisation opportunities
More About You
With demonstrated capability to explore new ideas through innovation and continuous improvement, you’ll have solid analytic skills keen to drive and implement solutions. You’ll bring;
- strong commercial acumen with proven ability to draw insights out of large volumes of data from varying sources
- effective relationship management and influencing capability
- an enthusiasm to work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external customers
- experience in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel and Access including strong proficiency in macros, pivot tables, functions, lookup formulas and reporting)
- an innovative approach to the use of various IT platforms
