As a member of our Legal team, and based in our Melbourne CBD office, the Head of Investigations – Ethics and Compliance reports to the Head of Ethics and Compliance and is responsible for ensuring that investigations are led consistently, efficiently, and effectively.
A key component of the Head of Investigations role is to draw on developments in global best practice, regulatory guidance, and learnings from investigations to drive positive change and continuous improvement, in consultation with the business.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivery of complex/serious business conduct investigations in line with the Investigations protocol and best practice.
- Oversee other relevant business-led investigations across BlueScope's global footprint in consultation with the senior leaders in the business.
- Identify key emerging issues and trends in investigations and reviews and make recommendations to address gaps in controls or manage risk.
- Guide, train, and support BlueScope personnel responsible for conducting business-led investigations.
- Lead and manage external counsel/forensic investigators where investigations are outsourced.
- Liaison with Law Enforcement or other agencies where serious business misconduct involving BlueScope employees are reported to or identified by an internal investigation.
- Report quarterly to the Risk and Sustainability Committee on serious/complex business conduct investigations across the company, including likely outcomes, and on trends in enforcement.
- Ensuring strong document management processes around investigations
- Represent BlueScope Ethics & Compliance at external engagements and relevant forums.
- Lead the implementation of best practice investigative processes and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Elevate the profile and knowledge of Speak Up, How We Work and the Code of Conduct.
