Cook - Salary $70,000.00 - $71,000.00 per year

Our Kitchen Team at Niramaya Villas and Spa is looking for a driven individual to join us at our beautiful 5 Star Resort-based Restaurant.

Niramaya Villas and Spa is a luxury resort comprising of 52 self contained Balinese inspired villas surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Our quaint restaurant seats up to 100 and offers a spectacular space to dine, host weddings and other special occasions whilst overlooking our central main pool and a rainforest back-drop.

Applicants considered must fit the following criteria:

- Maintain a high standard of personal cleanliness and hygiene
- Preparation of ingredients and finished products under the supervision of a senior chef
- Accurately following recipes, instructions and procedures. If any further information is required to
understand and complete the task follow up with the senior chef.
- Ensuring a conscious effort is put into learning set up, menus, recipes, techniques and skills.
- Discard spoiled or expired foods, recording the wastage and notifying the senior chef
- Basic cleaning duties and making sure that workstations are clean and sanitised.
- Receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good
quality.
- Packing away deliveries according to chef's instructions making sure the stock is rotated,
organised and cleanliness is maintained.
- Discarding all expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and
freezers.
- Plating and presenting meal items as per instructions.
- Work quickly and efficiently at all times.
- Writing down items to be ordered/prepared when coming to the end of a product and/or mise en
place.
- Maintain a positive professional approach to all staff and customers.

Skills and requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate’s degree, diploma, or certification in culinary arts is advantageous.
- A food handler's license.
- Proven commercial kitchen experience.
- Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- The ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
