Job Duties and tasks
APEM is seeking to employ 2 x Fitter to be based in Sydney NSW. The incumbents will be required to work in the APEM workshop, as well as project sites as per the operational need of the business.
The salary range offered is $70,000 to $80,000 per annum plus superannuation depending on experience, skills, and professional aptitude. These roles are open to Australian citizens and Permanents Residents as well overseas professional workers.
Applicants holding an Australian equivalent Certificate IV or higher with some experience can apply. At least 3 years’ industry experience can be considered in lieu of the qualification.
Tasks and duties include:
o Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of machinery and equipment, such as mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical based systems.
o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to comprehend the specifications and requirements for the projects.
o Proficiently use precision measuring instruments such as callipers, micro-meters, and a range of gauges to ensure accuracy in assembly and alignment of components.
o Ability to fabricate parts or components using metalworking tools and techniques such as welding, cutting, and bending.
o Troubleshooting and diagnosing the problem to determine the necessary repairs or adjustments for malfunctioning machineries and assemblies.
o Ensuring compliance with QC standards and procedures on technical specifications and project standards.
o Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines as per company guidelines.
o Training and supervising junior fitters or apprentices enhancing their skills and technical knowledge.
o Maintaining detailed records of work performed, including repairs, modifications, and maintenance schedules.
o Collaborating with engineers, draftsmen and project owners to develop solutions to complex problems and improve processes.
