Australian Precision Engineering and Manufacturing is seeking to employ 2 x CNC Machinists (Metal Machinist Code 323214) to complement our precision machining team.
You will be required to produce precision machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping technical and project records, and maintaining equipment and tooling. These full time positions are based in Glendenning, NSW. Salary range offered is $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation depending on skills and experience presented. The role is open to Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents, and overseas professionals.
Main responsibilities involve the following:
• Determine the fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete CNC jobs according to specifications, and mount them in preparing for precision machining
• Discuss project specifications with engineering manager to guarantee consistency between plans and products, and collaborate to modify designs when existing ones are not feasible
• Perform pre-machining inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and products.
• Modify machine speed, tooling and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts on a variety of CNC machines
• Oversee cutting process, make technical adjustments for individual jobs, early identification of errors and take necessary measures to eliminate these errors
• Supervise machine temperatures and rectify setting for maximised machining outputs
• Review and interpret cutting plans, enter them into control outlets before jobs and alter them to rectify error mistakes when necessary
• Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and specification are as per the technical blueprints and specifications
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning, and tool replacement
• Ability to train junior CNC operators and supervise them where required
Skills requirements for this position:
• Certificate IV or Diploma, or higher qualification in mechanical or tool engineering, or equivalent industry experience
• Minimum 2 years’ precision machining will be highly regarded
• Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills are must
• High proficiency in mathematics and attention to detail
• Effective time management, project management and supervision skills
