We are advertising on behalf of our client OSM Australia PtyLtd. Support the development and implementation of efficient crew management services, policies and initiatives that effectively build and maintain the capability of the organization emphasizing quality, continuous improvement, and high performance in the OSM Australia Crewing team.
Duties & Reasonability
• Supervise the Crewing Team in Manila to ensure timely delivery of Management services to stakeholders to ensure training compliance and effective crew management as per SLA.
• Ensure service provision to the highest possible standard in accordance with
BIMCO/contracts with OSM Australia’s clients.
• Participate and supervise in the recruitment of new employees including interviews, qualification checks, employment medicals and reference checks
• Ensure that all decisions taken by Crewing team on operational requirements are in accordance with EA and law
• Support the Crewing Documentation Supervisor and Recruitment Officer in the day-to-day crewing coordination and ensure that all positions are filled with the most suitably qualified and compliant crew member available.
• Supervise in the training and competence development of seafarers as applicable and in adherence to training matrices
• Participate as required in internal audits with the Operations Manager and assist to closed out crewing related observations in a timely fashion and any recommendations are documented and dealt with
• Supervise the Crewing Support Team to ensure that pre-joining requirements process is met and the registration in ecrew of all required and relevant documents for each individual crew member and ship list is completed before joining the vessel.
• Work with the Crewing Manager in developing practices and policies linked to strategies and objectives of the Crewing Department.
• Participate in the Operations Meetings with the crewing team.
• Review and approve fortnightly rosters prior to payroll processing.
• Sourcing of candidates and building relationships with existing personnel
• Respond to employment queries where able.
• General personnel related administration duties
• Work with the Operations Manager within assigned portfolio to identify workforce planning needs as per project requirements
Perform other functions as delegated by the Immediate Supervisor
• Participate in the after-hours on call roster.
Skills and experience
• At least a graduate of any bachelor’s degree
• Proficient in STCW Certificates
• Understanding of local EBA’s Proficient in the use of the Office Productivity Tools
• Preferably with 7 years relevant experience with Crewing Support Services
• Leadership skills
• High level attention to detail
• Exceptional organization skills
• Ability to thrive under pressure.
• Experience in recruitment or logistics and travel
• Experience in word or excel.
• Strong computer skills and good numerical skills
• High level of listening and communication skills along with the ability to deal with people at all levels.
Salary: $75000 - $85000 per annum.
