Programmed Skilled Workforce is a leading provider of managed workforce and training services.
We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and experienced Mechanical Fitter , based in Rockhampton .
Our client provides a full suite of logistics support for a Military vehicle fleet, including maintenance support, repair and overhaul for a wide range of tracked and wheeled vehicles. This exciting role is predominantly based in Rockhampton operating a 9-day fortnight. This position offers a unique experience to support an annual military exercise. This provides an opportunity for working in the exercise area for the duration of the working week with an attractive daily rate. During the exercise all accommodation & meals will be provided.

To be considered for the role you must have the following:

Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade
Proven industry experience
Current Drivers Licence
Basic knowledge of electrical systems
Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems
Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol test
Ability to undertake physical manual handling tasks
Positive attitude towards safety

The following are desirable skills but not essential:

MR Licence & High-Risk Forklift Licence (highly regarded)
Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components
Good IT and diagnostic skills

Your new role will consist of a range of duties including but not limited to:

Completing routine preventative maintenance tasks
Conducting diagnostic tests on vehicles
Completing maintenance and repairs to small and large plant equipment
Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and components
Participating in toolbox meetings and pre-start risk assessments
Following all OHS standards and procedures
Supporting team members by assisting with any other relevant duties
