Mechanical Engineer

Prancer is looking for an experienced and dynamic mechanical engineer who will not only focus on improving efficiency of the existing facility, but also be able to introduce new designs and products as desired by the business.

- To improve the overall efficiency of workers and equipment, you will be analysing workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data and production schedules and costs.
- You will assist with the preparation and review of maintenance instructions and schedules, optimising maintenance intervals and root cause investigation.
- You will be involved in planning, preparing, and reviewing engineering reports, mechanical calculations, design layouts, production drawings and cost estimates.
- You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems, devices, products, and parts.
- You will be designing and developing specifications of mechanical equipment, machines, and components for manufacture.
- You will be determining materials, equipment, piping, material flows, capacities and layout of plant machinery and systems for construction.
- You will be expected to oversee the assembly operations as well as other ad hoc tasks of a mechanical engineer.

Qualification & Licences:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or higher is mandatory.

Skills & experience: Required
- Five plus years as a mechanical engineer in the automotive/manufacturing environment.
- A sound understanding of the Automotive Design Rules, and relevant International and jurisdictional vehicle rules, regulations and standards which apply to the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Vehicle homologation and/or compliance.
- Demonstrated Strong adherence to WHSE procedures and managing a safe workplace.
- Being able to work alone or in a team environment while maintaining a strong Self-motivated and analytical/ engineering mind set.
- Demonstrated experience communicating with customers and stakeholders to provide solutions to engineering requests for assistance.
- Managing product reviews to help our continuous improvement.
- Technical problem-solving.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing project documentation and reports.

Skills & experience: Highly Regarded

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated individual with a "can-do" attitude.
- Strong working knowledge of the MS Office suite
- Ability to learn new programs and applications quickly.

Salary $73,000 - $80,000 per annum
