The core capability requirements for this role are: Establish, support and maintain the QPS telecommunications interception (TI) system. Ensure the integrity of the TI system at all times in particular the capture and retention of all lawfully intercepted information (LII). Manage complex technical projects to improve the delivery of interception services to the QPS. Work in a highly sensitive operational environment requiring a high level of confidentiality. Undertake research and analysis on new and emerging telecommunications technological trends and products which may impact upon QPS TI system. Provide high level advice to QPS senior management and diverse TIU stakeholders on technical issues impacted upon by the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 (Cwlth) and other areas of policy and procedures. As primary QPS contact officer, liaise with Information Systems Branch, TI system vendors, third party suppliers and other law enforcement agencies' TI system technical support areas.
