Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Join us as a Community Engagement Officer at headspace Dandenong, where you will play a key role in ensuring genuine youth engagement and promoting mental well-being.
As the Community Engagement Officer, you will:
- Lead and support the 3D Youth - Youth Reference Group to ensure authentic youth engagement
- Enhance mental health literacy among youth, friends, families, and the community
- Plan and execute group programs for young individuals across headspace Dandenong and Hastings
- Develop health promotion activities focusing on mental well-being and social interaction
- Implement initiatives targeting youth populations to encourage early help-seeking
- Cultivate engagement activities for CALD, ATSI, and LGBTIQ youth
- Establish partnerships and alliances for young people aged 12-25
- Manage administrative tasks and social media for headspace Dandenong and Hastings

About you
To excel in this position, you will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in youth work and community engagement
- Qualification/s in Health Promotion, Public Health, Community Development, Social Science, Social Work, or related discipline
- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Previous engagement with Youth Reference Groups (preferred)
