Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Join us as a Community Engagement Officer at headspace Dandenong, where you will play a key role in ensuring genuine youth engagement and promoting mental well-being.

As the Community Engagement Officer, you will:

  • Lead and support the 3D Youth - Youth Reference Group to ensure authentic youth engagement
  • Enhance mental health literacy among youth, friends, families, and the community
  • Plan and execute group programs for young individuals across headspace Dandenong and Hastings
  • Develop health promotion activities focusing on mental well-being and social interaction
  • Implement initiatives targeting youth populations to encourage early help-seeking
  • Cultivate engagement activities for CALD, ATSI, and LGBTIQ youth
  • Establish partnerships and alliances for young people aged 12-25
  • Manage administrative tasks and social media for headspace Dandenong and Hastings

About you
To excel in this position, you will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in youth work and community engagement
  • Qualification/s in Health Promotion, Public Health, Community Development, Social Science, Social Work, or related discipline
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Previous engagement with Youth Reference Groups (preferred)
