The Role

We have several full-time permanent positions available for Dairy Technicians to join the ASX-listed Bega group business in Wetherill Park. The role aims to enhance the site's mechanical and electrical systems capabilities to increase overall equipment efficiency.

This position is designed to promote a healthy work-life balance with an excellent shift pattern that supports your personal and professional growth.

You'll be working 12.5-hour shifts, both day and night, on a rotational basis. The shift pattern is structured to be three days on, one day off, three days on, and then seven days off, allowing you to pursue your personal interests while maintaining a fulfilling career.

Our Wetherill Park site in Sydney is our Milk Based Beverages (MMB) hub for the eastern seaboard. The site manufactures fresh and extended shelf-life products, including our short-pack format MBB and Ultra Heat Treated (UHT) long-life unrefrigerated (unrefrigerated) milk. This state-of-the-art facility has benefited from past and ongoing large-scale investment and produces 75 million litres of some of Australia's most loved dairy products, including Dare Iced Coffee, Dairy Farmers, Farmers Union, and Big M.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and systems for emergency repairs and carry out preventive maintenance inspections.

  • Plan and coordinate the testing and inspection of products and processes and implement corrective actions to ensure accuracy

  • Ensure all work is carried out per safe engineering practices, as well as legal and food safety requirements.

  • Understand benchmarking and implement plans for continuous improvement opportunities

  • Prioritize safety above all else and support a safety-first culture

About you

  • Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or Electrotechnology and Electrical Licence is necessary.

  • Experience in beverage or food manufacturing would be an advantage.

  • Strong ability to find fault and root cause of electrical/mechanical breakdowns

  • High-level skills in process improvement with analytical ability and strategic problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels
