A great opportunity has become available for an experienced HSE Business Partner to join the HSE team in Rydalmere.
The HSE Business Partner will be responsible for partnering with the business leading the effective implementation and execution of HSE policy and strategy across Thales operations in Australia. This includes undertaking and being responsible for activities in support of continuous improvement in HSE and assuring conformance of Thales activities with applicable regulatory frameworks, group strategy, lifesaving controls and the Thales HSE-MS. The HSE Business Partner will act as the trusted advisor, conscience of the organisation and custodian of HSE standards.
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a HSE Business Partner, you are accountable for:
- Lead activities to support the implementation and maintenance of the business line/segment HSE strategy, management and improvement plans.
- Coach, guide and mentor leaders and their teams in achieving the HSE strategy.
- Work proactively with stakeholders to collaboratively address work place health, safety and environmental risks.
- Lead hazard, incident and injury/illness reporting and investigations. Monitor to ensure that follow ups are complete. This includes involvement, support for and understanding of Claims and Fitness for work activities
- Serve as a role model to all workers by demonstrating full support of Thales’s occupational health, safety and environment programs by promoting awareness, accountability, and employee engagement.
- Work closely with managers and employees to identify areas for improvement, establish HSE goals, and implement initiatives that enhance HSE performance.
- Champion emergency preparedness and planning for the site. Developing and maintaining emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and business continuity strategies.
- Continually identify through continuous improvement protocols and risk assessments, implementing opportunities to improve HSE and control measure where required
- Regularly providing reports on safety metrics, trends, and initiatives to senior management, highlighting areas of improvement and recommending appropriate actions.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory and company safety and environmental requirements.
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Diploma WHS (post 2012)
- Minimum 5 years HSE experience
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the fields of HSE, management systems and relevant legislation.
- Knowledge and experience in chemical management and health monitoring programs
- Understanding of Injury Management, Workers Compensation, Health Promotion is desirable.
- Experience interacting with workers from management level through to the shop floor
- Execution of HSE within a high-risk environment
- Practical knowledge of the production /construction / and/or manufacturing environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to lead, motivate and influence others.
- Practical knowledge of emergency procedures in a wide range of scenarios
