About Your Role: Procurement Manager

As the Procurement Manager, you'll oversee and drive procurement activities for Above Water Systems Business in Australia. You will represent the Procurement organization within CBU, acting as the single interface for program stakeholders. You'll champion ethical procurement practices and foster excellence across the board.

Your key focus? Creating exceptional procurement solutions—competitive, high-quality, and timely. Early engagement in bids allows you to optimize solutions and introduce innovative supply chain approaches, considering the entire program lifecycle.

This role demands effective stakeholder management skills, collaborating seamlessly across business development, bid teams, and project delivery, with a keen eye on engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Challenge and optimize procurement needs, promoting a cost-effective supply chain approach to enhance solution competitiveness.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy, aligning with program specifics, Australian content targets, and business directives.
  • Support business in preparing competitive bids or proposals.
  • Oversee end-to-end tendering processes and supplier selection, actively participating in procurement reviews for supplier evaluation and contracting.
  • Coordinate procurement plan execution and subcontract administration in collaboration with Category Buyers and Subcontracts Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, fostering synergy with global procurement activities.


 

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3 -5 years of procurement experience.
  • Proficiency in managing complex projects within large international organizations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to influence internal stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and proficiency in IT productivity tools.
  • Supply chain experience in an international context, adept in Make/Buy decisions and Risk Management.
  • Track record in bringing value & ability to capture innovation.

Desirable Skills:

  • Project Management qualifications.
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or Logistics or equivalent
  • Background in Electronics, Mechanical Trade/Technical qualifications.
  • Defence and ASDEFCON knowledge and application.
