Thales AMS (Airspace Mobility Solutions) is providing leading edge airspace control and security solutions for the commercial and defence sectors, as well as digital solutions for Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) and Digital Aviation.

AMS represents revenues of over 500 million Euros worldwide and is the global market leader in the Air Traffic Management space, and one of the most credible players in the new UTM space.

Your Role

As the Cybersecurity Lead within the Air Mobility Solutions (AMS) division, you will play a critical role within the engineering competence centre. Managing a small team, you will play an integral part in defining and executing the Cyber engineering strategy.

The ideal candidate will still be ‘hands on’ as this role will be a split of 70% hands on operational to 30% team management.

Some Key elements of this position:

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Discipline BL and the APAC Engineering Manager to define and execute the Cyber engineering vision and strategy, aligning it with the specific region context and objectives.
  • Contribute to the formalization and communication of the discipline processes, practices and tools, ensuring they meet international standards.
  • Responsible for the adoption of new technologies linked to our business (DevSecOps,..).
  • Monitor and assess how cyber current practices and tools contribute to projects and products to ensure they meet established objectives and milestones
  • Ensure that cyber engineering practices follow local and international regulation and standards and advise on the development of optimal trade-off to deliver a compliant and design to cost solutions. 
  • Work to promote and enhance people training and upskilling to build a strong and sustainable discipline.

On day one, you will ideally bring:

  • Expert knowledgeable in multiple levels of cybersecurity practices and substantial knowledge of Cybersecurity
  • Familiarity with Cyber risks analysis and Cyber Crisis Management within multiple domains (defence, government, civil)
  • Ability to provide cybersecurity advice and guidance on complex projects to ensure that the security architecture is defined based on a risk analysis
  • Passion to engage and develop your team through the use of collaborative work and challenging approaches
  • Ability to capitalise on the laws, norms and standards in order to help define an efficient cybersecurity strategy for the organisation
  • Relevant degree, ideally graduated with a Master of Engineering or Computer Science or you have significant experience in team management
  • Australian Citizenship
