A great opportunity has become available for an experienced System Administrator to join the Digital Systems team at Garden Island in Sydney.
The role:
- Support systems, software, hardware and interfaces Identify, investigate and resolve incidents and problems with system software, hardware and interfaces, and take remedial action where necessary
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of configuration documentation
- Tailor and customise system software, system hardware and interfaces to meet user requirements
- Monitor and optimize performance of systems
- Provide advice on and assist with configuration and connection of existing and new systems, applications and data feeds into and out of system
- Lead and/or participate in regular departmental and project meetings and technical reviews (both internal and external)
- Mentor and coach team members, providing technical guidance.
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in one of the following disciplines (or equivalent industry experience) - Computer Science; System Engineering or Information
- Technology System administration or technical support experience with UNIX, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Solaris and/or HP/UX
- Experience with networking including a functional understanding of TCP/IP and firewalling.
- Previous exposure to Juniper firewall design and management.
Special Requirements:
- You must be able to obtain and maintain TSPV level Australian Government Security Clearance.
- Eligible to obtain authorisation to work with ITAR controlled equipment and technology Periodical interstate and international travel will be required
- You will need to successfully clear a pre-employment and police check.
