Our Team
Our Above Water Systems team provides design services for commercial and naval ships – as well as providing in-service support capabilities. We’re proud to bolster Australia’s sovereign capability through operational support to our Navy. With ongoing training programs and a team of over 500, our people have room to grow and move as they make a meaningful contribution to Australia’s Defence.
Your Role
Located centrally in Woolloomooloo’s Garden Island, on Gadigal land you will provide advice and service with regard to engineering materials, properties and behaviour of these materials and their applications.
Some cool things you might get to do in this job:
Provide materials advice which supports the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) team
Carrying out various materials tests as well as assisting in maintaining accreditation in a NATA accredited lab
Work with navy vessels to document and assess condition of different parts of the ship
Assisting and advising customers with materials technical issues and providing appropriate and practical solutions
Your Experience
What we value most from our graduates is a willingness to learn and the confidence to offer solutions, however the below will also come in handy:
You are recently degree qualified in Material Science & Engineering or Chemical Engineering
A true desire to work in a diverse team towards a common goal
Leadership experience demonstrated through previous employment or extra-curricular activities whilst studying university
