Our Mungari Gold Operations are a cornerstone asset located 28km west from central Kalgoorlie, Western Australia (WA) and 600km east of Perth. Mungari has a predominantly residential workforce, with many living in Kalgoorlie Boulder, giving employees the luxury of coming home every day.
Last year we announced our expansion project, a $250m investment to expand our processing mill. This investment will extend Mungari’s mine life to 15 years and double annual production to over 200,000 ounces per year post commissioning. It is an exciting time to join the Mungari Operations!
About the role
Reporting to the Processing Manager we are looking to appoint a Senior Metallurgist. This role monitors and report the plants metallurgical performance, whilst providing technical support to assist the production team to achieve the budgeted gold output. Key Deliverables are;
Ensure achievement of budget plant recoveries through agreed metallurgical practices and procedures.
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical accounting, forecasting, and reporting.
Managing a small team of metallurgist, graduates, and lab techs.
Actively promote continuous improvement to improve safety, improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
Identify, initiate, and conclude metallurgical projects which will enhance the processing plants performance.
About you
As the Senior Metallurgist you will hold a tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Minerals Processing and have proven experience in the following areas;
Leading and supervising a technical team.
5 years’ experience in gold extraction (ideal but not essential)
Demonstrated continuous improvement and strong project management skills
Ability to prioritise and schedule work, whilst coping with pressures and setbacks
Ability to work autonomously and safely in a remote environment.
Competent user of MS Word, Excel and Pronto.
