About Your Role: Mechanical Fitter
Join our Above Water Systems team as a Mechanical Fitter based in Harbour View Plaza, Darwin. This is an opportunity to learn specialised skills on the job (ship building/repair industry) while working for an inclusive team.
This is a full-time permanent role, working Monday to Friday (standard 38-hour week).
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out general mechanical work, Strip down components/equipment and reinstate
- Assist the team in general duties
- Delivering sea boats to/from defence vessels
- Clean, inspect, diagnose, test and repair defects found
- Carry out planned maintenance tasks
- Comply with all OHS Policies and Procedures
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Current N.T. drivers Licence
- Eligibility to gain a Defence Security Clearance (Australian Citizen & Police check)
- Trade experience/qualifications (any Mechanical Trade would be ideal)
- Able to work safely, follow instructions and work unsupervised
- Forklift licence (Desirable)
- Strong desire to learn
