What will you do?
In this highly sought-after position, you will join the water team and be a key member of one of many project teams working in engineering partnerships with Southeast Queensland’s leading water utilities. You will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ to deliver water and wastewater treatment plant solutions.
We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and, it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.
- Deliver feasibility studies, business cases and reference designs for treatment plant projects utilising multi-discipline design teams including client personnel.
- Working collaboratively within the embedded team to develop solutions consistent with the client’s objectives across their treatment plant portfolio.
- Developing emerging professionals within the embedded team; and
- Supporting the client across other aspects of their business as required for the successful delivery of the embedded partnership objectives.

What can you bring to the team?
Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will possess a tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering, be a Chartered Professional Engineer with either RPEQ status or able to register with the board, significant experience supporting large-scale water & wastewater treatment projects plus a working knowledge of contemporary software tools and associated systems.
Previous leadership experience will be desirable, as will a background in the following technical areas;
- Process design and calculations including:
- Mass balances
- Chemical dosing systems
- Unit process sizing
- Design safe systems
- Lead the development of P&IDs
- Develop process narratives and functional descriptions
- Develop specifications for process equipment
- Audit, troubleshoot and optimise operating wastewater treatment plants
- Be up to date on industry innovations in wastewater treatment
- Be knowledgeable about relevant regulations
- Working in multi-discipline teams to develop sustainable and constructible solutions
- Organise information into clear reports to present information
