We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Venue Manager to join our Food and Beverage leadership team and take charge of our restaurant operations at Ardo Hotel in Townsville QLD.
ARDO HOTEL
Ardo is a brand new $88 million dollar hotel that opened in Townsville in late 2023, next-door to The Ville Resort-Casino. It's arrival brings elevated relaxation and rejuvenation to North Queensland's premier leisure and entertainment precinct, nestled on the edge of the Coral Sea with uninterrupted views across to Magnetic Island. It's sprawling hotel suites, world-class dining outlets (including Marmor and Terasu), day spa and signature rooftop pool deck and bar combine to celebrate the spirit of the tropics with a unique Ardo flair.
Ardo's signature steak and seafood restaurant, Marmor, promises a true elevation of Australia's finest gourmet cuisine, while diners at Terasu will be invited to experience a relaxed but edgy take on traditional Japanese cuisine. Ardo's rooftop will be instantly iconic, with its stunning rooftop location, offering panoramic views across the ocean to the horizon.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and experience Venue Manager to help lead the restaurant and front-of-house team at the Ardo.
As Venue Manager, you will lead, develop and mentor a passionate group in delivering service excellence as well as applying commercial business acumen to build the business and contribute to the overall bottom line of the organisation. You will be responsible for developing marketing activities, business plans and budgets in line with operational expenditure as well as all cash and stock control.
Annual salary range of $80,000-$90,000.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this position, you will need to show:
- qualifications (tertiary desirable) in Hospitality or a related field
- minimum 3 years' indsutry experience at a managerial level
- experience in a similar restaurant venue (e.g. Japanese cuisine establishment)
- current Responsible Service of Alcohol Statement of Attainment
- current Responsible Management of Licenced Venues Certificate & Approved Manager's Licence (preferred)
- demonstrated experience responding to & resolving disputes relating to RSA
- demonstrated understanding of restaurant, barista & bar practices
- strong food & beverage knowledge, including cocktails/beers/wines
- demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal & external cutomers & guests
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- exceptional organisational skills
- the ability to work well under pressure
- high level leadership & management skills
- professional presentation
- exceptional communications kills
- demonstrated knowledge of food safety & hygiene practices
- flexbility to work various shifts, including weekends, nights & public holidays
