Emergency Nurse Team Leader

Are you an experienced and passionate veterinary nurse with exceptional leadership skills? We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Emergency Nurse Team Leader at our Baulkham Hills Animal Referral Hospital. As a leader in emergency veterinary care, we are looking for someone who can contribute to our commitment to excellence in patient care and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managerial and Supervisory Procedures (In conjunction with Practice Manager): Collaborate with the Practice Manager to implement effective managerial and supervisory procedures. Lead, motivate, and mentor the nursing team to ensure a high standard of patient care.
- Veterinary Nursing: Utilize your extensive veterinary nursing experience to provide hands-on support to the nursing team. Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and knowledge in emergency and critical care.
- Administration Procedures: Oversee and ensure the smooth execution of administrative procedures related to emergency nursing. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Client Care Performance: Foster a client-centric approach by ensuring excellent communication, empathy, and responsiveness to clients. Address client concerns and contribute to a positive client experience.
- Operational Functions Performance: Ensure efficient and effective operational functions within the emergency department. Streamline processes to optimize patient care and workflow.
- Personal Conduct Performance: Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, ethical conduct, and a positive attitude. Uphold the values and standards of the veterinary hospital.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4+ years of experience as a qualified Cert IV nurse in a busy veterinary hospital.
- Diploma in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) or equivalent is desired but not essential.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Flexibility to work a blend of day, evening, and overnight shifts, including a weekend every fortnight.
Additional Information:
- This is a permanent role with 30-38 hours per week.
- The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing nurse rosters and working closely with the Practice Manager to optimize rostering requirements.
