Exciting things are happening at Catholic Healthcare! This year we’ll celebrate our 30 years in care, we now have 5000+ employees and a new opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Regional Wellbeing and Leisure Specialist, to join the growing Regional Specialist Team. 

Reporting to the Senior Wellbeing and Leisure Manager, you will be responsible for embedding the Wellbeing Framework and Catholic Healthcare’s (CHL’s) new Model of Care, across a portfolio of Residential Aged Care (RAC) homes within a specific region, across Sydney Metro, Regional and Northern NSW. *Portfolio size will reduce with team growth in mid 2024.  

Working closely with the on site Lifestyle Coordinator/s and their teams of Lifestyle Assistants, you will coach and develop teams to support capability by delivering a range of systems and processes to improve quality and foster a culture of care and resident lifestyle choices consistent with CHL’s Operating Model and aligned to new and existing Aged Care Quality Standards. 

Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with your ability to build trusted partnerships with key stakeholders and your passion for wellbeing and resident focussed care, will aid your success in this autonomous role. 

Your responsibilities will include; 

  • Assisting with implementation and embedding CHL Wellbeing Framework 
  • Contributing to the development of a Wellbeing systems, processes and programs 
  • Coaching and development of Lifestyle Coordinator/s and teams within your region 
  • Monitor compliance with relevant Standards for Lifestyle/Wellbeing, Model of Care 
  • Identify and appropriately manage risk to improve the lifestyle experience 
  • Develop solutions to identified gaps within the home and the older person's behaviour concerns via engagement / therapeutic lens  
  • Co-design and deliver education programs and in-services to improve knowledge, skills, and capability in Lifestyle/Wellbeing and Model of care initiatives 
  • Onboarding and related orientation of Lifestyle Coordinators 

The ideal candidate will have an innovative approach with a keen interest in understanding industry trends and have the ability to effectively influence and educate to support positive change.   

  • Degree - Social Science (Div. Therapist) and/or Cert IV in Leisure and Health 
  • 5+ years' exp. Lifestyle/Wellness Coordinator position within Residential Aged Care 
  • Dementia Training Australia (DTA)- Dementia Essentials Certificate  
  • Demonstrated experience in development and implementation of meaningful and engaging memory support and general innovative lifestyle programs 
  • People leadership experience - supporting and developing multiple teams 
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of the ACQSC Quality Standards  
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the key challenges faced by older people in RAC  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications -Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint 
  • Strong documentation and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail 
  • Current Australian issued driver’s licence and availability to travel
