State Operations Manager

Hector's Deli currently has 3 Delis in Melbourne, with a desire to expand its operation state, and nationwide. Having recently and successfully launched a 4-day work week for all our team as well as paid parental leave, we are on the quest to become an employer of choice. The successful candidate will have a proven track record as an Operations Manager or Area Manager, who is looking to strike the balance of great product, good values and driving business! They must have excellent commercial acumen, a sound business operator and is always willing to jump on the tools and help the team when required - ‘Great leaders will never expect their team to do something they wouldn’t do themselves’.

The role is 5 days a week, and weekend coverage will be required pending business needs. Currently no nighttime trade, but this may change in the future. The ideal candidate is looking for the next challenge to oversee the expansion of new Deli openings within Victoria.


Responsibilities

Oversee 3 high performing Delis and their operations in their entirety. Ability to take on several more Delis in the near future in Melbourne. Areas included in the role are outlined below:

People – develop, support, train and coach external, internal talent, increase tenure/reduce turnover
HR – interviewing senior roles, training documentation, performance management
Brand – highest of standards relating to product quality, refined casual
Experience – protect our guests, reduce wait times, increase throughput, enhance ambiance, cleanliness & music
Sales – marketing initiatives, increase spend per transaction, drive sales through non-alc, alc and sides
KPI’s - monthly P&L reviews, budgeting and reforecasting, yearly budgets
Supply Chain – COGs, waste, stock controls and yields
Rostering – Deputy system, labour controls and set budgets, maximise efficiencies
Safety – food safety, liquor licencing, risk and hazards
Other – 1 on 1’s and business reviews with Managers, facilitate weekly Operations Meeting, work in Deli regularly, execute new Deli openings seamlessly


Requirements
Minimum 3 year's experience in the same, or similar role
Previous multi-site experience is non-negotiable
Strong connection with team and people in order to build a strong culture and increase tenure
Proactive leadership and displays a strong initiative level
Ability to meet budgets and set KPI’s, engage your team on this journey
Provide ongoing feedback to your team and have difficult conversations when required
Outstanding time management and organisational skills
Ability to multi-task, work autonomously and efficiently to meet deadlines
A passionate Hector’s Deli fan and a brand ambassador!
