The Company:
Peterkin Paper Group is a family owned and run Premium Paper & Envelope Wholesaler/Manufacturer and Trade Printery established in 1996. We're the direct importer and distributor of some of the most luxurious invitational papers from around the globe and the only operating envelope manufacturer in WA.
In addition, we're a specialist trade printer (including luxe letterpress and foil-press on vintage presses) and paper product supplier to the wedding invitation industry.
We sell our products direct to consumers via our website and market ourselves around the globe via social media. We believe in hiring talented individuals who know more about their field than we do, then working with them to bring out their talents.
THE ROLE
In this action-packed full time role, you could be doing any (or all) these tasks - just not all at once!
- Pre-press including imposition and use of Adobe Creative Suite
- Create graphic designs for sample invitations, business cards etc.
- Operate digital press - (we'll fill you in on the make/models during the interview stage)
- Operate digital creaser/slitter machines
- Operate laser cutter machines
- Operate flat-bed digital die cutting machine
- Operate small guillotine to trim printed products (there's not much)
- Check, wrap and pack printed/finished items – (our clients are extremely fussy and so are we)
- Weigh, count and shrink-wrap paper, card and envelopes
- Quality control – recognise imperfect products
- Operate electric paper drill
- Operate edge-foiling machine (It's gorgeous, you'll see!)
- Assist despatch team to pick and pack orders
What we're looking for in YOU:
- Graphic Design bachelor degree
- Minimum 2 years experience in the printing industry
- INCREDIBLE eye for detail (and errors!)
- Enthusiasm!!!!!!
- Can do attitude
- A happy disposition
- Multi-tasking talents - but not talking and eating, we don't want to see that
- A genuine drive to be part of a dynamic, growing business
- A desire to work with competent individuals you can rely on (and laugh with)
- A need to have your opinions truly taken on board and valued by the owners and be part of the direction and overall big decisions of the business
- A desire for work/life balance – we finish at 4pm (woohoo)
- A desire to work close to the city, but not in the city so you can drive your car and park for free
