Apiarist
Australian Rainforest Honey (ARH) are on the hunt for 4 experienced apiarists and bee/nature lover based in regional NSW. We have a long and proud history in production of pure Australian Honey and settle for nothing less. We currently have over 8,000 hives. At ARH, we don’t cut corners, and we really need a like-minded individual as we move through an exciting growth period. If this sounds like you, please get in touch.
Role
The role of the Apiarist will work alongside the Manager in overseeing the apiary, breeding, raising and maintaining of the bees.
This position reports directly to the Apiarist Manager.
Duties include but not limited to
· Breeding and raising bees for the production of honey and pollinating crops
· Monitoring and maintaining the health and condition of the bees
· Assist in managing pests and diseases accordingly
· Assist in managing the flowering lifecycle to ensure key honey bearing flora is appropriately utilised
· Assist in managing the pollination needs of the horticulture crops
· Assist in managing the risks associated with pesticide use
· Assist in managing the nutritional inputs from targeted flowering events and maximise colony populations
· Other duties as directed
Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
· Proven skill in breeding, raising and maintaining bees
