Australian Steel Pty Ltd is a steel manufacturing company located in Braeside. They now seek an experienced CNC Machinist to join their team in Braeside.
The Role
This is a full time role with an annual salary of between $70,000 to $75,000, depending on experience plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Some tasks may include
Profile cutting steel plates from 2mm to 40mm thick plates using high definition plasma.
Determining job requirements by studying specifications and blue prints as per customer expectations.
Utilizing tools, torches and machines to fabricate materials.
Machine operation in all areas, including: testing, safety checks, calibration, troubleshooting and general operation.
Location and fixing
Operation of overhead cranes.
Aligning, shaping and bending metal products.
Bolting and riveting.
Examination of completed materials for suitability.
Finishing final products, including cleaning, polishing, filing, chiselling and grinding.
Ensuring the timely preparation of materials to avoid production shortages.
Reporting to supervisors
The Requirements:
Certificate III in Engineering -Mechanical Trade or relevant trade qualification
Minimum 3 years relevant experience
At least 3 years’ experience in operation of CNC multi torch (up to 6) oxy-cutting machine or
At least 3 years’ experience in operation of multi-head (4x) high definition plasma cutting machine (profile cut 2mm to 40mm)
Wash grinding experience.
Ability to load and unload materials with overhead cranes
Ability to handle heavy equipment.
Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to multi-task.
Good communication skills
Have at least 2 contactable work referees
Experience to perform the aforementioned duties
