Highgate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of packaging and processing consumables to food manufacturers across Australia.

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager to join our growing business, working from our state-of-the-art Melbourne office and warehouse facility in Truganina.

Supported by management, your role will be to take ownership of all facets of the management of our HSEQ system, including:

  • Ensure compliance with ISO/FSSC22000 GFSI food safety and ISO14001 environmental standards, taking responsibility to implement changes and continuous improvements.
  • Owning the process of quality issue resolution from start to end, engaging all relevant stake holders.
  • Proficient response for customers & staff to quality issues & questionnaires, providing technical support, and sustaining customer loyalty by delivering a positive experience.
  • Conduct quality assurance investigations of non-conforming products and processes, including identifying underlying causes, and developing and coordinating recommended corrective actions.
  • Analyse trends, targeting root causes to develop and implement solutions to reduce customer facing impacts. 
  • Develop strategies to promote and instil a robust food safety & quality culture.
  • Develop environmental innovations to improve the EMS and reduce our ecological impact.
  • Lead CI to ensure successful integration of the company’s FSMS, EMS & WHS systems, with the objective of proactively preventing problems.
  • Induct, Train and ensure Competency of HSEQ Team Members (and other areas with HSEQ System Interactions) for compliance. 
  • Generate reports and analyse KPIs related to complaints, customers, vendors, query close out, CRM, etc.
  • Management of inventory quality, ensuring new deliveries meet our standards.
  • Assistance with supplier returns by reason of quality.
  • Registration and compliance of products for HACCP certification.

Minimum requirements needed for this role include:

  • 3+ years’ experience within Quality Assurance, having maintained a QMS system encompassing ISO compliance, including adherence to changing legal requirements.
  • Skills with auditing, compliance and working within a team to drive change.
  • Sound experience across managing HSEQ functions.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools for identifying improvement areas e.g. Advanced Excel.
  • DMS SharePoint experience will be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Be solutions focused with ability to make quick and correct decisions.
  • Qualification and training to support your application.
