Responsibilities:
- Server infrastructure commissioning, monitoring and support.
- Management of servers, volumes, memory, CPU load, resourcing, costing and balancing.
- Designing and maintaining efficient routing and connectivity of systems.
- Installation, monitoring, maintenance and repair of highly redundant software systems that provide critical services.
- Management, monitoring, scaling and support of Kubernetes cluster nodes and deployments.
- Implementation and support of continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Identify areas where automation would result in improvement to existing solutions.
- Collaborate with other departments to determine solution requirements.
- Implement solutions that automate existing manual and semi-automated processes using a broad range of technologies.
- Support existing processes through monitoring, debugging and diagnosis.
- Provide infrastructure setup and support services for other members of the Data & Analytics department.
- Document processes and architectures.
- Training and mentoring junior staff in the use and maintenance of our technologies.
- Integrate new and existing applications across the business suite to provide efficient data pipelines.
About you..
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google cloud, Azure, etc).
- Experience with software-defined infrastructure (using terraform, Kubernetes etc) with a deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and objects.
- Experience administering and using source control, continuous integration and deployment, and/or containerised applications.
- Development skills in a broad range of serious back-end programming languages (Python, Java, C++, C, C# etc)
- Detailed understanding of traditional relational database concepts, administration and design (MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server or similar)
- Ability to convey complex concepts to other staff possessing a broad range of varying technical competencies.
- Exposure to designing and implementing sustainable network, server, application and data architecture.
